Michael Jackson R.I.P.

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

After I had heard about  Jackson’s passing I was in complete shock. I mean, who saw this coming? I sure didn’t. I don’t normally listen to the radio, but on the way home from work today, I listened to every station for more info about Michael Jackson and his death. It was true, he had died earlier today. All the stations were playing his music and it was really weird listening to his music while knowing he had died.

Sure MJ was a bit “wacko” and did some crazy ass things throughout his career. But I just have to point out that Thriller is hands down the greatest music video ever made. It’s a brilliant short horror film. I have the album on vinyl and I’ll be crankin’ it up all weekend long.

Thriller

“Pop star Michael Jackson was pronounced dead today after paramedics found him in a coma at his Bel-Air mansion, city and law enforcement sources told The Times. Los Angeles Fire Department Capt. Steve Ruda told The Times that paramedics responded to a 911 call from the home. When they arrived, Jackson was not breathing. The paramedics performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center, Ruda said.” Read the rest of the article at the Los Angeles Times.

Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors Photos

Friday, June 19th, 2009

Well, we made it through another convention and it was a blast! This June, Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors was held at the Jacob Javits Center in NYC and it did not disappoint. We met a ton of cool people and unloaded a healthy amount of horror t-shirts. The I Brake For Zombie stickers were also a hit. We showcased some brand new t-shirt designs and we received a lot of positive feedback from them. Those new designs will be on the Headstone City site soon, so sit tight. Thanks for the support and to all those who came out to visit us. We hope to see you again next year.

I’ve posted some pics below, enjoy!

The Zombie Theory

Friday, June 12th, 2009

“In Night of the Living Dead, zombies are brought back from the dead by a “mysterious force” that allows their brains to continue functioning. But how exactly does a zombie brain function? Finally, a Harvard psychiatrist has the answers.

Through education Dr. Steven C. Schlozman is an assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and a lecturer at the Harvard School of Education. He is also an avid sci-fi and horror fan – and, apparently, the world’s leading authority on the neurobiology of the living dead. He has even drafted a fake medical journal article on the zombie plague, which he calls Ataxic Neurodegenerative Satiety Deficiency Syndrome, or ANSD (the article has five authors: one living, three “deceased” and one “humanoid infected”).”
