Hellraiser Remake Photos
Looks like they’re moving ahead with the Hellraiser remake. Concept photos for Pinhead’s makeup have been released and I’m not sure how I feel about it. I guess they want to update him but I’m not really digging the new look. I guess they haven’t strayed too far from the original, but the deep gashes make Pinhead look like a reject from the SAW series. And his pins aren’t really pins anymore, they’re nails. Overall he’s just too messy. Maybe I just don’t like the model that the makeup is on; he has zero personality. I suppose it’s still a work in progress and we’ll see the final product eventually. Agreed, i think it looks like balls. It looks more like someone tried to be Pinhead for Halloween and made the costume themselves the night before all half assed…..

This sucks I was all excited when I found out about the remake, but if they can’t even get the Pinhead’s make up right then I don’t even want to think about how they will skrew-up the story. And if they don’t use the original Lament Configuration-Puzzle Box, I will not pay to this re-make. Clive Baker help these people get it right?

I personally asked him how he felt about the concept pics, he was dissapointed. He also said he was not asked to play pinhead and that it was ” fucking bullshit ” I saw him at the fangoria convention in chicago 2009.

really? Headstone City will be at the Fango Con in NY in June. I believe Doug Bradley will be there. I’ll have to ask him too, get him really fired up!

The concept pic looks like something right out of silent hill. I am guessing the usage of the thick nails is to symbolize ancient carpenter nails. It does have an eerie sense to it.

How depressing! Pinhead’s wounding is supposed to have order; the grid with VERTICAL and HORIZONTAl lines with pins at the intersections, of course you all know that. Here, this looks like the makeup artist was drunk and did shit randomly while blindfolded. If that’s what Pinhead’s going to look like there’s going to mass revolt against Hollywood about this. And they better keep the movie R and not lower it to PG13 like alot of horror is doing now a days

im not sure what yalls problem is, it was made by the person who has been doing pinheads make up since like the second or third movie. its not that bad looking. ive always felt that the old pinhead was a little to “clean” looking for someone from hell who has seen all the splendors/horrors that hell had to offer. this new version is more beaten and i would say a more realistic picture of what someone with pins in there head from hell would look like lol. yall just dont like change and well im sorry to tell you but things change….even the most bad ass Cenobite ever.

I know things change but Pinhead’s wounds etc are a badge of honour that show he’s embraced the ‘delights’ of hell, and gone beyond pain. There is meant to be method to his madness and the ordered pins are a symbol of that; this new version just looks like he’s been hacked up a bit. But I’ll reserve judgment until I’ve seen the finished movie :)

This reminds me of the “A Nightmare On Elm Street” remake. Everyone was fighting over Freddy’s new face and I myself was also worried Freddy’s face was going to be terrible. Alas, that was the least of my worries. The movie itself was an utter disaster…
